Fun House Dressing Room, featured in the artist’s 2009 solo exhibition Power and Burden of Beauty, explores the detrimental effects of beauty marketing on our inner psyches and our relationship to our own bodies. In this interactive installation where distortion mirrors magnify the experience of trying on a bathing suit in public, participants are invited to enter the dressing room, try on a bathing suit in their size, and look at their figure in a distorted mirror. In the room, audio from an unseen audience, as well as a simulacrum of the participant’s inner voice, plays overhead.
